Patrizia
Orange Wine. Chardonnay
13.0% Vol. Vintages: 2021
PATRIZIA is a tribute to the passionate sweetness and extraordinary character of my sister with whom we embarked on the winemaking adventure. It is obtained from Chardonnay grapes harvested by hand in the property's vineyards. The prolonged maceration on the pomace is followed by a meticulous refinement process in French oak barriques. PATRIZIA is characterized by its lively amber color, elegant olfactory breadth, complexity and refined freshness.
ORIGIN
The Chardonnay grapes used to obtain PATRIZIA come from the “Val d'Oca” vineyard between San Matteo and Sabbioni, in the province of Mantua in Lombardy, in that strip of land which, alongside the Oglio Natural Park, is wedged into the Po river The soil is characterized by the deep layer of clayey alluvial sediments which guarantees a high water retention capacity and constant supply of nutrients. The presence of a delicate superficial calcareous vein requires the vine to carry out selective and delicate root absorption. The intermediate climate between oceanic and Mediterranean in conjunction with the most passionate care of the vineyard constitute fundamental ingredients for a wine of extraordinary olfactory breadth, balanced structure and exquisite minerality.
PAIRINGS AND TASTING TIPS
C
Matured cheeses: PATRIZIA pairs very well with matured cheeses with a robust flavour. Try combining them with cheeses such as Pecorino Sardo, Parmigiano-Reggiano thirty-six months or aged gouda. Starters and fish-based dishes: The freshness and structure of PATRIZIA make it an excellent companion for fish-based starters such as swordfish carpaccio or ceviche. White meat dishes: The high acidity and moderate tannic structure make PATRIZIA suitable for white meat dishes, such as roast chicken or turkey. Spicy foods: The spicy notes of PATRIZIA go well with slightly spicy foods. Try pairing it with Middle Eastern or Indian cuisine. Autumn dishes: PATRIZIA with its warm color and notes of dried fruit, pairs well with autumn dishes such as roast pumpkins, mushrooms and meat stews. Curry dishes: PATRIZIA's combination of spices and complex flavors can complement curry dishes, offering a new dimension of flavor. Fermented or pickled foods: Try pairing PATRIZIA with fermented foods such as kimchi or sauerkraut, as their complexity may be in harmony with the wine's profile.
